One of the most common causes of disability in the US is arthritis. It is a broad category, covering over 100 different manifestations. Commonly occurring symptoms of cold laser therapy arthritis include:
- Pain
- Aching
- Stiffness
- Redness
- Decreased motion
- Swelling in or around the joints
Symptoms vary depending on the type of arthritis. Some forms of arthritis, like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, can cause widespread symptoms by affecting multiple organs.
Here, at Active Family Chiropractic Care Center, the focus is on our patients. Our medical professionals will make sure to get you out of pain with cold laser therapy. Our newest equipment is the non-thermal therapeutic laser, Theralase TLC-2000.
A Treatment Plan Designed Around Our Patients
At our care center, you will learn about your disorder, and we will explain your treatment options. You will hear about the potential benefits and risks of those options if any. Once you are well informed, you can make decisions and commit yourself to a treatment plan. Our team will evaluate your condition and design a plan of treatment that works best for you. Since we are a patient-centered care center, our treatment approach is always results-driven.
Managing arthritis pain with cold laser therapy
Low-level laser therapy has been used successfully to treat arthritis for decades. This therapy creates usable cellular energy by light absorption by photosensitive organelles. Applying laser therapy with our latest equipment Theralase TLC-2000 to the arthritis patient provides considerable relief in many cases.
Therefore, laser therapy, in the management of arthritis, is an effective adjunctive therapy. Theralase TLC-2000 has received full clearance by all regulatory agencies for adjunctive use in pain treatment. Its helpfulness as an LLLT medical device has been proved through successful patient treatments around the world.
What happens during the procedure?
Dr. Greg Swistak or our other two highly trained healthcare providers will administer cold laser therapy with a small handheld device. The doctor will hold the handheld device close to or touching the area being treated for 30 seconds to a few minutes. The length of time depends on the seriousness of your condition. We need different wavelengths to treat specific conditions.
The low-light energy will penetrate into your skin and into the tissues, where it will be absorbed. Theralase super-pulsed, non-thermal lasers can penetrate five centimeters into tissues, where they trigger a physiological reaction. This reaction reduces inflammation, improves circulation, accelerates healing, and eliminates pain. The light energy will promote regeneration of the damaged tissue.
Does the procedure hurt?
The procedure with Theralase TLC-2000 is painless, noninvasive, and does not involve potent drugs. You will not need preparation, and there is no lengthy recovery time. You may have mild discomfort for a few days, but there are not any serious side effects.
Our goal at Active Family Chiropractic Care Center is to deliver highly collaborative patient-centered care. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
